"Three Hundred Fridays and Counting. The "Support the Troops" rally has been held each Friday at Monument Terrace in Lynchburg since November 30,
2001. This gathering includes citizens as well as veterans from all branches of our armed forces. They take pride in their mission to honor and support veterans from times past as well as those now in service to our country. Monument Terrace in Lynchburg, Va. is rich in history by honoring it's fallen with memorials for the Civil War, Spanish American War, WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and POW/MIA, which has 276 names engraved on the
granite walls. Standing with the Friday vets are "shadowy figures"
representing past "warriors." A female pilot from the Gulf War, a Marine in dress blues, a Revolutionary Soldier, a Confederate Soldier, a WWII Airborne Soldier and a Vietnam veteran.
